Research and Practice in Migration Studies: Exploring Cross-Border Recruitment as A Scholar and A Practitioner
Transnational Labour migrants are among the most critical yet often overlooked labour forces in global supply chains. In this seminar, we invite Magali Croese, PhD candidate in Socio-Economics at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM), to help us rethink labour migrant recruitment, corporate human rights due diligence, and recent developments in labour governance across Asia and Europe—from the dual perspective of both researcher and practitioner.
Drawing on her fieldwork in Nepal, Malaysia, Taiwan, and France, as well as more than ten years of professional experience in human resource management and ethical recruitment, Magali will guide us in exploring how academic research can engage with social transformation, fostering meaningful dialogue and impact between scholarly work and global labour governance.
This event will be held in a hybrid format. Please secure your spot online or offline by registration.
Date: 26 November (Wed.), 10:00–12:00
