Carr 教授為波士頓大學社會學系教授，且為該校 Center for Innovation in Social Science 的創始主任。她是《Handbook of Aging & Social Sciences》第九版及明年即將出版第十版的共同主編，同時擔任多個重要老人學期刊主編。Carr 教授的研究聚焦老年社會學、家庭關係、臨終準備與喪親調適，特別關注個人生命歷程如何受到性別、社會階層與家庭結構變遷影響。
此次講座，Carr 教授將分享未來老年學研究趨勢，並提供對亞洲研究的專業建議，期待師生與研究同好踴躍參與，一同探索老化、家庭與福祉的複雜關係。
We are honored to invite Professor Deborah Carr from Boston University (USA) as the speaker for this lecture.
Professor Carr is a faculty member in the Department of Sociology at Boston University and the founding director of the university’s Center for Innovation in Social Science. She is the co-editor of the Handbook of Aging & the Social Sciences (9th edition) and the forthcoming 10th edition, and also serves as an editor for several leading journals in the field of gerontology. Her research focuses on the sociology of aging, family relationships, end-of-life preparations, and bereavement adjustment, with particular attention to how individual life courses are shaped by gender, social class, and changes in family structures.
In this lecture, Professor Carr will discuss emerging trends in aging research and offer insightful guidance for studies in Asian contexts. Faculty, students, and scholars with related interests are warmly encouraged to join us in exploring the complex interconnections among aging, family, and well-being.
