My research focus centers on four main themes. Firstly, exploring the impact of the environment on disabled older individuals in institutions or communities is a significant area of my study. Their limited physical, mental, and social resources make them a more vulnerable group among the older population. Secondly, examining changes in activity engagement among middle-aged and older individuals with disabilities sheds light on their relationship with quality of life or psychological well-being. This emphasizes that despite a gradual reduction in physical and mental resources, engaging in meaningful activities that support preferred lifestyles can still lead to positive aging outcomes. Thirdly, interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative information collection and analysis techniques are employed to delve into traditional gerontological research topics. Factors influencing cognitive function changes in older individuals are analyzed using machine learning, while tools like mobile phones or fitness trackers assist in recording retirees' lifestyles. Fourthly, investigating strategies for successful aging in the workplace among middle-aged and older individuals uncovers factors and outcomes influencing their successful aging in these settings. This aims to promote the development of age-friendly work environments. Each research endeavor encompasses different settings, diverse demographic characteristics, and varied life experiences of middle-aged and older individuals. The goal is to explore mechanisms and potential avenues for enhancing positive aging outcomes. |
